What is the Interski Snowsport School Intensive Training / Gap Course?
An Interski BASI Intensive Training Course provides a fast track opportunity to:

How much does the Intensive Training / Gap Course cost and what is included?
The course costs £5,449 and lasts for nine weeks
If you are shopping around, you may be wondering how we can offer this course for approximately £1,000 less than our competitors. The answer is simple... What is the programme for the Intensive Training / Gap Course?
The course follows the programmes as set out below:
- Week 1 - Personal Performance Skiing Course
- A five day course led by a BASI Trainer, designed to prepare the student for the following week's Level 1 Ski Instructor course. It includes an introduction to the central theme and the four strands.
- Week 2 - BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor Course
- A five day course leading to the first level of BASI qualification. Also led by a BASI trainer, it covers skiing safely, planning, conducting and evaluating a teaching session, accident and emergency handling, understanding of how to improve personal and teaching performance, and an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses to date.
- Weeks 3 to 7 - Snowsport School Experience
- During this period you will shadow qualified instructors for over 14 hours each week as they teach. You will also receive six hours per week of personal performance clinics to hone technical ability.
- Weeks 8 and 9 - BASI Level 2 Ski Instructor Course
- A ten day continual assessment course, led by a BASI Trainer. Successful students will be able to ski to the required level, have the knowledge, ability and understanding tos afely teach alpine skiin on a marked, patrolled area. The fortnight also includes delivery of the BASI Child Protection Module.
When does the Intensive Training / Gap Course Begin?
We are running two intensive training / gap courses this coming winter. Each gap course will follow the programme as set out above. The starting dates are as follows:
- Course One
- Course commences on 13th December 2009
- Course Two
- Course commences on 3rd January 2010

- Yes, all courses will be delivered by a BASI trainer.
- Does your package include food?
- Breakfast, snack lunch and evening meals are all included in the price of your course. We will even contribute to your celebratory meal at the end of your course!
- Do you offer twin-share, en-suite accommodation?
- Yes. The 3* Hotel Bus is one of many quality hotels used by Interski in the Aosta Valley. The hotel's central location means you can be wandering through the cobbled streets of Aosta within minutes - they're on your doorstep.
- Does your package include the required 70 hours of snowsport school work experience?
- We guarantee a minimum of 70 hours with the opportunity to do many more hours (up to 150 classes, Mon-Sat, every week).
